Open the Documents module

  • In the main menu, click Documents.

The list shows the document name, who added it, and the document type. Supported formats include Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PDF (.pdf), and others.

Add a new document

  • Click Add (+).
  • Select a document from your device.
  • Document name (required)
  • Document type (required) — select from the list of types.
  • Case (optional) — link the document to a case.
  • Client (optional) — link the document to a client.
  • Click Save.

The document appears in the document list.

View a document

Click a document in the list to view its content inside the application, without downloading it.

Edit a document

  • Open the document from the list.
  • Click Edit (pencil icon in the top bar).
  • Make the changes and save.

Lexra records the changes and keeps a version history.

View document versions

Each change is captured as a version. The version history shows who made the change, the date and time, and gives access to previous versions.

Note:  Versioning gives you change control and reduces the risk of losing previous versions of a document.

Organise documents by type

Documents are classified by type — for example Contract, Judgement, Decision, Correspondence, Power of attorney, Claim. Types are defined in the Document types section.

Use document templates

The Templates section stores frequently used documents — template contracts, powers of attorney, claims, and correspondence. Templates cut preparation time and keep content consistent.

Search and filter documents

  • Search by document name.
  • Filter by document type or other available criteria.

Customise the column view

  • Show or hide individual columns.
  • Change the order of columns.
  • Save the customised view for future use.
