Create a New Case

Create a case and record its basic details, parties, and any additional information.

Open the case list

  • In the main menu, click Cases.
  • Review the list of available cases.

Start a new case

  • In the upper-right corner, click Add case (+).

Enter basic case details

  • Case number (required) — a unique identifier for the case in your system.
  • Court case number (optional) — the reference number under which the case is registered with the competent court.
  • Date of receipt (required) — the date the case was received.
  • Case type (required) — select from the Case type codebook. If the type you need is missing, see 'Manage codebooks'.
  • Case category (required) — select from the Case category codebook. Categories depend on the selected case type.
  • Collaborators (optional) — the users who will work on the case.
  • Only selected collaborators can view this case (optional) — restrict access to the case.

Add parties

  • Clients (required) — select one or more clients. If a client is not yet recorded, create them first in the People module.
  • Client position (required) — select from the Party positions codebook.
  • Opposing party (optional) — select or enter the opposing party.
  • Opposing party position (optional) — select from the Party positions codebook.

Add additional information

  • Value in dispute (optional) — enter the amount.
  • Currency (optional) — select from the codebook.
  • Description (optional) — free text with additional notes.
  • Court expert (optional) — select a person from the system.
  • Other associated persons (optional) — add any other participants as required.

Save the case

  • Click Save.

The new case appears in the case list and is ready for further editing.
